Curry leaves thuvaiyal recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Curry leaves - 1 cup or 1/2 cup
  2. Coriander seeds - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  3. Uluttam paruppu (split black gram) - 1 tablespoon (tbsp)
  4. Tamarind - gooseberry (nellikai) size
  5. Hot dry or green chili - 5
  6. Garlic - 3 cloves
  7. Oil - 2 to 4 tablespoon (tbsp)
  8. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Heat oil in a pan add Uluttam paruppu (split black gram), coriander seeds until you can smell them being roasted.
  2. Now add the curry leaves and cook for 2-3 min and cool them down to room temperature.
  3. In a blender (mixi) add water as needed and grind all the ingredients into a fine paste to thick consistency and serve.
