Brinjal thuvaiyal recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Indian Brinjal - 4
  2. Black gram - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  3. Dry chili - 6
  4. Asafoetida powder - a pinch
  5. Tamarind - small gooseberry size
  6. Oil - 8 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Chop brinjal into small pieces and roast them until oil separates in 4 tablespoon (tbsp.) oil.
  2. Heat remaining oil in a pan, now add black gram and roast until it turns light brown. Now add asafoetida powder, dry chili and roast for 2 minutes and let it cool down.
  3. Grind roasted ingredients, salt, tamarind into thuvaiyal by adding water as needed and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with curd rice, idli, dosai.
