INGREDIENTS:

  1. Rock candy - 1/2 cup
  2. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  3. Rice - 1 cup
  4. Milk - 7 cup
  5. Ghee - 10 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  6. Saffron - 3 pinch
  7. Cashew - 3
  8. Almond - 3
  9. Raisin - 5
  10. Pistachio - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Cook the rice by adding milk. Once the rice is cooked and all the liquid is observed add rock candy, sugar and stir well until the rock candy, sugar is dissolved.
  2. Now add 5 tablespoon (tbsp.) of ghee and stir well until it reaches halva consistency i.e. rice become very thick and ghee separates.
  3. Reduce the heat and add saffron. Stir and continue cooking for few minutes and keep it aside.
  4. In a separate pan melt the rest of the ghee and roast the nuts and raisins. Now add this to the rock candy rice and mix well. NOTE: raisins will plump up and nuts turn golden brown.
