Islamic ghee rice recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Rice or Basmati rice - 3 cup
  2. Onion - 3
  3. Yogurt or Curd - 1/4 cup
  4. Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Cloves - 5
  7. Cinnamon stick - 2 inch (broken into pieces)
  8. Coriander leaf - 20
  9. Cardamom - 4
  10. Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Water - 6 cup
  12. Ghee - 1/4 cup
  13. Oil - 1/4 cup

PREPARATION:

  1. Heat oil, ghee in a rice cooker (you can place the inner bowl in direct heat as well) add cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom and cook for few minutes.
  2. Now add onions and cook until they turn golden brown. Now add the ginger garlic paste and cook until the raw smell is gone (say about 3 minutes)
  3. Now add the yogurt or curd, salt to taste, coriander leaves and bring to boil.
  4. Now add the rice place it on the rice cooker and cook until the rice is done and serve.

NOTES:

  1. You can cook the same with normal pressure cooker. Need to add right water to cook or the rice will be become mushy.
  2. Good to go with Islamic sambar.
