INGREDIENTS:

  1. Barnyard millet (kuthiraivali) - 1 cup
  2. Water - 1 1/4 cup
  3. Salt - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Don't soak Barnyard millet (kuthiraivali). Clean and wash the millet.
  2. Pressure cook millet, water, pinch of salt for 3 whistle.

NOTES:

  1. if you are cooking over stove. soak the millet in water for 1/2 hour and drain the water. Boil 2 cups of water; add the millet stir occasionally and cook for about 10 minutes. Check to see if the millet is cooked before you serve.
  2. Serve hot with kara kuhambu or sambar.
