Potato cauliflower fry recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Potato - 2
  2. Cauliflower - 1 small flower
  3. -- for tempering --
    1. Oil - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Split black gram - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    4. Broken Dry chili - 4
    5. Curry leaves - 5 (optional)
    6. Hot chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    8. Asafoetida - a pinch
  4. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut the potato into 1 inch cubes. Cut Cauliflower into 1 inch cube.
  2. Boil or steam the potato and Cauliflower to 80% done. Remove excess water and keep aside.
  3. In a pan heat oil add mustard seed, when it start to splatter add spit black gram, dry chili, curry leaf and sauté for 3 min.
  4. Add the vegetable cover and cook for 5 min in low heat.
  5. Now add the chili powder, turmeric powder, salt to taste, Asafoetida mix well cover and cook for 5 min.
  6. Now turn the heat to high, mix and cook until the vegetable become crispy. Now its ready to be served.
