Plantain (vazhaikkai) podimas recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Plantain (banana or vazhaikkai) - 3
  2. Shallots (Chinna Venkgayam) - 15
  3. Green chili - 5
  4. Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp)
  5. Curry leaves (optional) - 5
  6. Mustard seed and Split black gram - 1 tablespoon (tbsp)
  7. Cumin seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  8. Split bengal gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  9. Fresh shredded coconut - 2 tablespoon (tbsp)
  10. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Boil the plantain, remove the skin and shredded them.
  2. Cut the shallot and green chili into fine pieces.
  3. In a pan heat oil, add mustard seed, split black gram, cumin seed, spilt bengal gram and cook until mustard seed stop to splatter.
  4. Now add the green chili, onion, curry leaves and cooking until onion turns golden brown.
  5. Now add the shredded plantain and cook for 5 to 10 min.
  6. Now add shredded coconut mix well and serve.
