INGREDIENTS:

  1. Greens (spinach,...) - 1 bunch
  2. Split green gram - 1/2 cup
  3. -- Roast and Grind --
    1. Split black gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    4. Dry chili - 2
    5. Asafoetida powder - a pinch
  4. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Roast the ingredients under section "-- Roast and Grind --" and grind them into a fine paste by adding little water as possible.
  2. Wash and cut the greens and cook them.
  3. Cook the split green gram in pressure cooker for 3 - 4 whistle. Now add the gram to the cooked greens and mix well.
  4. Now add the ground paste to the greens and cook for 2 more minutes and serve.

NOTES:

  1. You can add shredded coconut if you like.
