Broccoli poriyal recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Broccoli - 2 cup (cut into small pieces)
  2. Onion - 1
  3. Ginger - 1
  4. Garlic - 5 cloves
  5. Hot dry chili - 2
  6. Coriander leaves - 10
  7. Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  8. Uluttam paruppu (split black gram) - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  9. Kadalai paruppu (split bengal gram) - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  10. Oil - 3 tablespoon (tbsp)
  11. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut onion, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves into fine pieces. Break the hot dry chili into small pieces.
  2. Cook broccoli by adding little water for 5 minutes. or steam them until cooked.
  3. In a pan heat oil add mustard seed, Uluttam paruppu (split black gram), Kadalai paruppu (split bengal gram) and cook until the mustard seed stop splattering.
  4. Now add the dry chili, ginger, garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Now add the cut onion and cook until it turns golden brown.
  6. Now add the broccoli and cook for 5 minutes and serve.
