Asparagus poriyal recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Asparagus - 1 bunch
  2. Onion - 1/2
  3. Garlic - 3 cloves
  4. Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  5. Hot chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  6. Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  7. Black pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp)
  8. Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  9. Curry leaves (optional) - 5
  10. Oil - 3 tablespoon (tbsp)
  11. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut onion and garlic into fine pieces.
  2. Cut Asparagus into 1/2 inch pieces (remove the thick stem at the bottom if you don't like them)
  3. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed, curry leaves and cook until mustard seed stop spattering.
  4. Now add the garlic and cook for 2 min. Add cut onions and cook until they turn golden brown.
  5. Now add turmeric powder, cut Asparagus, salt as needed and cook for 2-3 min,.
  6. Now add the hot chili powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder and cook until the asparagus is cooked and the raw smell is gone ( you don't need to add water as it cooks faster) and serve.
