Oats pongal recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Oats - 1/2 cup
  2. Split green gram - 1/4 cup
  3. Cashews - 6
  4. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Black pepper - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Ghee - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak the green gram and cook them.
  2. Melt ghee in a pan and roast the Oats (until its golden brown).
  3. Add water and cook oats (must be thick).
  4. Now add the cooked green gram, salt to taste and cook well. When its thick enough remove from heat.
  5. Heat oil add cumin seed, black pepper, cashews and cook until it start to splatter. Now add this to pongal (cooked oats and green gram) mix well and serve.
