INGREDIENTS:

  1. Kodo millet (Varagu rice) - 1 cup
  2. Split Green gram - 1/4 cup
  3. Ghee - 3 tablespoon (Tbsp.)
  4. Cumin seeds - 1 tablespoon (Tbsp.)
  5. Chopped Ginger - 1 inch
  6. Curry leaves - 1 leaf
  7. Black pepper - 1 tablespoon (Tbsp.)
  8. Water - 2 cups
  9. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Wash millet, green gram. Pressure cook them for 4 whistle by adding 1 tablespoon (tbsp.) ghee.
  2. In a pan heat ghee. Add cumin seeds, black pepper, ginger, curry leaves. Once cumin seeds start splattering. add this to pressure cooked pongal.
  3. Now add salt, ghee to pongal mix well and serve.
