INGREDIENTS:

  1. Sesame seed - 1/2 cup
  2. Dry chili - 5
  3. Split black gram - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  4. Asafoetida powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Salt - 1 teaspoon  (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Roast sesame seeds until they turn golden brown. Takes about 4 minutes.
  2. In a pan heat oil, asafoetida powder, black gram, dry chili and sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Cool all the ingredients.
  4. Grind dry chili, black gram to a coarse powder, now add sesame seeds and grind to coarse powder.

NOTES:

  1. Add these to rice with oil to make sesame rice.
