INGREDIENTS:

  1. Ladies finger (okra) - 10
  2. Yogurt - 3/4 cup
  3. -- To Grind  --
    1. Shredded coconut - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
    2. Dry chili - 2
    3. Clove - 2
  4. -- For Tempering --
    1. Oil - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Dry chili -1
    4. Curry leaf - 6
  5. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Chop the ladies finger (okra) into small pieces.
  2. Grind coarsely the ingredients under the section "-- To Grind  --" without adding any water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. add mustard seed, dry chili, curry leaves once the mustard stop splattering add the ladies finger (okra), salt as needed and sauté until they change color.
  4. Now add the ground powder and sauté for a minute. Cook the fried okra to room temperature.
  5. Add the cooled fried okra to the yogurt and mix well. Pachadi is ready to be served.
