Mattar paneer recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Paneer (fresh cheese) - 1 packet
  2. Green peas - 150 gram
  3. Tomato - 3
  4. Onion - 2
  5. Ghee - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Chili powder - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Cashews - 10
  11. Salt - for taste.

PREPARATION:

  1. Grind onion into fine paste (less or no water is better) and keep it aside.
  2. Grind tomato into fine paste (no water is better) and keep it aside.
  3. Grind cashew into fine paste as little water as needed and keep it aside.
  4. Cook or steam green peas and keep it aside.
  5. Soak paneer for 10 minutes in water.
  6. In a pan heat ghee once heated add ground onion and cook until golden brown.
  7. Now add the ground tomato and cook until oil separates.
  8. Now add the cashew paste and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
  9. Now add the cooked green pea and cook for 5 minutes. (stir time to time)
  10. Now add turmeric powder, chili powder, salt to taste, garam masala and coriander powder. Stir and bring to boil.
  11. Now add the paneer cubes and stir once. Simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  12. Then remove and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with chapati.
