Fenugreek greens and paneer masala recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Fenugreek greens - 4 small bunch
  2. Paneer - 100 grams
  3. Finely chopped onion - 1
  4. Finely chopped tomato - 1
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Black pepper powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Cumin seed powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Garam masala powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Bay leaf - 1
  12. Yogurt or curd - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  13. Fresh cream - 4 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  14. -- Grind to paste --
    1. Shallot (sambar onion) - 4
    2. Tomato - 1
    3. Green chili - 1
    4. Curry leaf - 5
  15. Salt - as needed
  16. Oil - 6 tablespoon (tbsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Clean the fenugreek greens and chop them into fine pieces.
  2. Grind the ingredients under "Grind to paste" section into a fine paste by adding little water as possible.
  3. In a pan heat oil. Now add bay leaf, onion and sauté until onion turn translucent (golden brown).
  4. Now add tomato and sauté until oil separates.
  5. Now add the ground paste and cook until oil separates.
  6. Now add ginger garlic paste until raw smell is gone.
  7. Now add the fenugreek greens and sauté for couple of minutes.
  8. Now add chili powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, cumin seed powder, gram masala powder, yogurt or curd salt as needed and 1/2 cup of water. Bring this to boil for couple of minutes, Now add paneer. Simmer and continue cooking until oil starts to separate.
  9. Now add the fresh cream remove from stove and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with chapati, parotta, puri and naan.
