Easy chana masala recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Chick pea - 1 cup
  2. Yogurt - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. -- Tempered, fried and to grounded --
    1. Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch
    2. Clove - 1
    3. Cardamom - 1
    4. Chopped Onion - 2
    5. Chopped Tomato - 2 big
    6. Ginger - 1 inch
    7. Garlic - 2 clove
    8. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    9. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.) or as needed
  5. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak chick pea overnight in water and cook them by adding salt to taste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon stick, clove, cardamom and sauté for few seconds.
  3. Now add the onion sauté them until they turn translucent (golden brown).
  4. Now add the tomato and sauté until they become mushy.
  5. Now add the ginger, garlic and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
  6. Now add chili powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and sauté for 2 minute.
  7. Now cool the sautéed masala and grind them into a fine thick paste.
  8. In pan add the ground masala paste, cooked chick pea, little water and  bring to boil.
  9. Now add the yogurt and continue cooking the chana masala reached the right thickness (like korma thickness) and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with chapati
