INGREDIENTS:

  1. Green peas - 1/2 cup
  2. Onion - 2
  3. Tomato - 3
  4. Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. -- Dry roast and grind to powder --
    1. Black pepper - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
    2. Cumin seed - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Fennel seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Oil - for tempering.
  10. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. In a pan add green peas, salt and cook them.
  2. Cut onion and tomato into small pieces.
  3. Dry roast the ingredients under the section "-- Dry roast and grind to powder --" in pan until they change color and grind to a powder.
  4. In pan heat oil, add onion and sauté until they turn translucent (golden brown).
  5. Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté for couple of minutes.
  6. Now add the tomato and sauté until they turn mushy.
  7. Now add cooked green peas, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt to taste and sauté until the raw smell is gone. NOTE:  if you need water add as needed.
  8. Cook the kurma until it boils. Now add the ground roasted powder and cook for another 5 minutes and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with chapati
