Tomato potato kadaisal recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Tomato - 3
  2. Potato - 3
  3. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Onion - 1
  6. Dry chili - 2
  7. Curry leaf - 8
  8. Coriander leaf - 20
  9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  11. Salt - as needed.

PREPARATION:

  1. Chop onion, tomato, potato and dry chili into small pieces.
  2. In a pan heat oil. Now add cumin seeds, mustard seeds. once the mustard stop splattering.
  3. Now add onion, curry leaf and sauté until oil turn translucent (golden brown).
  4. Now add onion, tomato, potato, dry chili, turmeric powder, salt to taste and sauté for 2 of minutes.
  5. Now add 1/2 cup of water and bring to boil and cook until well done. i.e. tomato, potato turns easy to mash.
  6. Mash the cooked potato and tomato with a masher (mathu refer image below), garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

  1. Goes well with idli, dosai, chapati.
