Pumpkin masial recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Pumpkin - 250 grams
  2. Chili powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Chopped Onion - 1
  5. Chopped Garlic - 3
  6. Chopped Tomato - 1
  7. Slit Green chili - 2
  8. Curry leaf - 6
  9. Coriander leaf - 10
  10. -- For tempering--
    1. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Split black gram - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Cumin seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    4. Oil - as needed
  11. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut the pumpkin into 1 inch cubes.
  2. In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, split black gram, cumin seeds once the mustard seeds stop splattering. Now add the onion and sauté until they turn translucent (golden brown).
  3. Now add garlic, green chili, curry leaves and sauté until raw smell is gone.
  4. Now add coriander leaves, tomato and sauté until oil separates.
  5. Now add the pumpkin, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt.
  6. Sprinkle some water, place a lid and cook until the pumpkin is cooked and becomes mushy. Remove from heat and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with rice.
