Gongura (pulichakeerai) green masiyal recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Gongura leaves | Pulicha keerai - 1 bunch
  2. Chopped shallot | small onion - 6
  3. Chopped Tomato - 1
  4. -- For Tempering --
    1. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Split black gram | Urad dal - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Dry chili - 2
    4. Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Boil and cook the Gongura leaves | Pulicha keerai with 1/4 cup of water.
  2. Cool the gongura leaves and grind them to a paste in a blender.
  3. In a pan heat oil and add mustard seed when it start to splatter add split black gram, dry chili when split gram turns golden brown.
  4. Add the cut onion and cook until it turns golden brown. Now add the tomato and cook until oil sperates.
  5. Now add the ground gongura leaves, salt to taste. Mix and cook well for 2 - 3 min. Remove and serve.
