Vermicelli kichadi recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Vermicelli - 200 grams
  2. Ghee - 1/4 cup
  3. Bengal gam - 1/4 cup
  4. Water - 1 cup
  5. Hot green chili - 5
  6. Onion - 100 grams
  7. Shredded coconut - 100 grams
  8. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp)
  9. Curry leaves (optional) - 5 leaves
  10. Oil - 1/4 cup
  11. Salt - to taste
  12. Coriander leaves - 10

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut onion, green chili.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and cook until it turns golden brown. Now add mustard seed, green chili, curry leaves and cook for 2 min.
  3. Now add the Bengal gam and cook for 1 min. Add water and bring to boil.
  4. Now add the vermicelli and ghee. Cook until the vermicelli is cooked.
  5. Now serve the kichadi.
