INGREDIENTS:

  1. Vermicelli - 100 grams
  2. Rava - 25 grams
  3. Yogurt or curd - 200 milliliter
  4. Shredded carrot - 1
  5. Finely chopped capsicum - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Chopped coriander leaf - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Salt - as needed
  8. Oil - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Roast vermicelli to golden brown in 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.) of oil.
  2. Roast the rava to golden brown in 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.) of oil.
  3. Add the roasted vermicelli, rava, shredded carrot, capsicum, coriander leaf, salt as needed to the yogurt or curd. Mix them well and make idli batter. Keep the batter aside for 10 to 20 minutes.
  4. Spoon the batter onto an idli stand.
  5. Heat water in idli cooker, and place idli stand in.
  6. Steam for 5-7 minutes or until the idli is cooked.
  7. Insert a clean matchstick (back end) or a skewer. The skewer should come out clean if the idli’s are done and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Serve with chutney
