Rava idli(idly) recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Water - 2 cups
  2. Rava - 3 cups
  3. Yogurt - 3 cups
  4. Split black gram - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
  5. Split Bengal gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  6. Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  7. Curry leaves - few
  8. Oil - 2 tablespoon (tbsp)

PREPARATION:

  1. Heat oil in a pan when its hot Now add split black gram,  split bengal gram, mustard seeds and curry leaves. (you will hear spatter sound)
  2. Add the above to the rava with the yogurt, salt mix them and leave it for 25 minutes,then add 2 cups of water.
  3. Then beat the flour and make sure it is in idli(idly) batter consistency
  4. Spoon batter onto an idli(idly) stand.
  5. Heat water in idli(idly) cooker, and place stand in.
  6. Steam for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Insert a clean matchstick (back end) or a skewer. The skewer should come out clean if the idli’s are done.

NOTES:

  1.   Takes 1-2 hour for the whole preparation
