Mini spicy idli(idly) recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Idli(idly) dough - 4 cup
  2. Onions - 2
  3. Chili peppers powder - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
  4. Tomatoes - 3
  5. Oil (olive or peanut) - 2 teaspoon (tsp)
  6. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  7. Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  8. Split black gram - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp)
  9. Curry leaves - 10
  10. Coriander leaves - 12
  11. water - 1 cup
  12. Salt - for taste
  13. Garlic and ginger paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp)

PREPARATION:

  1. Stream and make small idli(idly) with the dough.
  2. Cut tomatoes, onions into small pieces.
  3. Chop coriander leaves.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seed, fennel seeds, split black gram. NOTE: Wait till mustard pops and splatter.
  5. Now add the cut onions and tomatoes and mix until well cooked. (i.e) oil separate.
  6. Add ginger and garlic paste.
  7. Add the chili peppers powder and stir for 10 min.
  8. Now add a cup of water, salt to taste and boil until it becomes thick.
  9. When the curry is thick add the idli(idly) and mix for 5 min.
  10. Finally add the coriander leaves and stop cooking.

NOTES:

  1. Preparation Time: 15 min if you have the idli(idly) ready.
