INGREDIENTS:

  1. Idli - 15
  2. Tomato sauce - 1/4 cup
  3. Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Finely chopped Onion - 2
  5. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Fresh coconut paste - 1/4 cup
  7. Fennel seed powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Curry leaf - 8
  9. Split black gram - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  10. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Oil - 1/4 cup
  12. Salt - 1/2 tablespoon (tbsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Break the idli into small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, black gram, curry leaves. Once the mustard stop splattering add onion and sauté until they become translucent.
  3. Now add the chili powder, salt as needed and sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Now add the tomato sauce and sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. Now add coconut paste, turmeric powder and sauté for 15 minutes. i.e. bring to boil and cook for 15 minutes
  6. Now add the idli pieces and mix well until they are coated with masala and serve.
