Tomato dosai recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Finely Chopped Tomato - 3
  2. Finely chopped Onion - 1
  3. Rice - 1/4 cup
  4. Parboiled rice - 1 cup
  5. Dry Chili - 4
  6. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Asafoetida powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Curry leaves -5
  9. Spilt Bengal gram - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Oil - as needed.
  11. Salt - to taste.

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak rice and parboiled rice for 3 hours. Soak the split bengal gram for 1 hour.
  2. Ground soaked rice, parboiled rice, tomato, dry chili, cumin seed, asafoetida powder, curry leaves and salt to taste into dosai batter.
  3. Now drain and soaked split bengal gram.
  4. -- Making Dosai --
    1. Heat the flat iron skillet or non-stick tawa pan well.
    2. Pour a spoonful of batter in the center, spread with the back of the spoon to a thin round.
    3. Garnish now with some finely chopped onion.
    4. Once this side is cooked, flip over and cook until the dosai is cooked on the other side. Remove and serve

NOTES:

  1. Good to go with chutney.
