INGREDIENTS:

  1. Whole green gram or Split Moong dhal - 200 gram
  2. Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Pigeon pea (toor dal) - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Asafoetida powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Green chili - 3
  7. Lemon - 1/2
  8. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Pressure cook green gram, salt, water as needed until they gram turns mushy.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, pigeon pea (toor dal), asafoetida powder, curry leaves and green chilies and sauté until they turn color.
  3. Now add the cooked dal. Simmer and cook this for 3 to 4 minutes by stirring time to time so it does not get burnt.
  4. Now remove from the heat add lemon juice mix well and serve.
