Yogurt coconut chutney recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Fresh shredded coconut - 1 cup
  2. Green chili - 3
  3. Yogurt (sour less) - 1/4 cup
  4. -- For tempering --
    1. Oil - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    2. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    3. Split black gram - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
    4. Curry leaf - 1 sprig
    5. Chopped shallot (sambar onion) - 2
  5. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Grind coconut, green chili, salt. At the last add yogurt and grind one more time.
  2. In a pan heat oil. Now add mustard seed, split black gram, curry leaves. Once the mustard seed stop splattering add the shallot and sauté until they turn translucent (golden brown). Add this to coconut chutney and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with dosai, idli.
