INGREDIENTS:

  1. Plantain - 3
  2. Finely chopped onion - 100 grams
  3. Finely chopped green chili - 3
  4. Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  5. Finely chopped curry leaves - 5
  6. Fennel seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Lemon - 1/2
  12. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Skin the plantain and cut into small pieces.
  2. Boil the plantain by add 1 cup water, salt to taste, turmeric powder and mash them.
  3. Now add grated coconut, green chili, 1/2 of the onion.
  4. In pan heat oil. Add mustard seed, curry leaf, fennel seed. Once the mustard seed start to splatter add rest of the onion and cook until they turn golden brown.
  5. Add this to the plantain, squeeze the lemon juice and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with rice, idli.
