Garlic coconut chutney recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Garlic - 10 to 12 clove
  2. Dry chili - 6 to 8
  3. Fresh shredded coconut - 1/2 cup
  4. Tamarind - 1 small gooseberry size
  5. Salt - as needed.
  6. -- For Tempering --
    1. Mustard seed - little
    2. Split black gram - little
    3. Curry leaf - 5 count
    4. Oil - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Now add sauté the garlic cloves. Remove and  keep it aside.
  2. In the same pan add dry chili and sauté. Now crush this in a mixer or blender. Now add coconut, tamarind, salt, little water and grind to think paste.
  3. Now finally add the roasted garlic and grind to thick paste.
  4. In a pan heat oil. Now add mustard seed, black gram, curry leaves. Once the mustard seeds stop splattering add this to chutney mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Cooking time: 5 minutes.
  2. Goes well with idli, dosai, paniyaram.
