INGREDIENTS:

  1. Coriander bunch - 1
  2. Spilt black gram - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Dry chili - 2 or as needed
  4. Tamarind - a small gooseberry size
  5. Salt - as needed
  6. Oil - as needed.

PREPARATION:

  1. Remove the leaves from the coriander bunch. Then chop the stems into very fine pieces.
  2. Heat oil and sauté one by one the ingredients and keep it aside. The order is dry chili, black gram, coriander stems, coriander leaves.
  3. Grind first dry chili, black gram first by adding little water as possible.
  4. Now add the stems and grind them by adding little water as possible
  5. Now add the leaves, tamarind and grind to a thick fine chutney (paste) by adding water as needed.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with idli, dosai
