Chapathi (chapati) recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
  2. Maida or all purpose flour - 2 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  3. Ripe banana - 1
  4. Salt - to taste
  5. Baking powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Oil - to cook
  7. Warm water - as required

PREPARATION:

  1. Mash the ripe banana well.
  2. Mix all the ingredient except oil to a dough. Knead this dough for few minutes until the dough becomes pliable and soft. Keep this aside for 10 - 20 minutes.
  3. Now make small 2 inch balls and flatten them to thin sheet.
  4. Heat a skillet in low heat until the surface gets really hot. Now coat the skillet surface with oil and bring the heat to low.
  5. Now place the chapati and cook for 1 minute side down. Now sprinkle oil around the chapati and flip it over and cook for a 1 minute and serve.  NOTE: you should remove the chapati when its white at both sides.

NOTES:

  1. You should cook this chapati in low heat.
