Chana bread sandwich recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Shredded carrot, beet root, potato - 1 1/2 cup
  2. Finely chopped onion - 1
  3. Finely chopped tomato - 1
  4. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Cooked chickpea (chana) - 1 cup
  7. Bread slice - 6
  8. Unsalted butter - for toasting
  9. Oil - as needed
  10. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Grind cooked chick pea in a blender or mixer.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, now add the chopped onion and sauté until they become translucent (golden brown).
  3. Now add tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  4. Now add the carrot, beetroot, potato and sauté them. Once the vegetables are half cooked add turmeric powder, chili powder, salt and cook until the vegetables cooked and becomes mushy.
  5. Now add the ground chick pea to the cooking vegetables and cook until they mix well and become a thick paste.. NOTE: if it becomes too dry add little water to make it a  paste.
  6. Take a bread slice and coat one side with the some paste. Now cover the coated side with another bread slice (like a sandwich). Now toast the sandwich both side to golden brown in butter coated skillet and serve.
  7. Make more sandwich with rest of the bread slices.
