INGREDIENTS:

  1. Shredded bottle gourd  - 2 cup
  2. Rice flour - 2 cup
  3. Split bengal gram - 1/2 cup
  4. Green chili - 5
  5. Ginger - 1 inch
  6. Curry leaf - little
  7. Coriander leaves - little
  8. Oil - as needed
  9. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak split bengal gram in water for 1 hour.
  2. Grind ginger and green chili into a fine paste by adding as little water as possible.
  3. In bowl add shredded bottle gourd, rice flour, green chili ginger paste, salt as needed, soaked split bengal gram. Now add water as needed and make a soft dough like you do it for chapati.
  4. Split the dough to balls about the size of small lemon or size of you preference. Then flatten them into a thick flat round sheet.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them to golden brown and serve. NOTE: You can also cook like you cook chapatti.

NOTES:

  1. In Andhra Pradesh its called as sorakaya appalu
