Paruppu (amai) vadai recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Bengal gram (kadalai paruppu) - 1 cup
  2. Fennel seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  3. Cinnamon (pattai) stick - 1 inch.
  4. Onion - 100 grams
  5. Green chili - 6
  6. Curry leaves - 5 (optional)
  7. Salt - to taste
  8. Oil - to fry

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak Bengal gram for 3 hours. Coarse grind them by adding as little water as possible.
  2. Cut onion, green chili, curry leaves into fine pieces.
  3. Now add the fennel seeds, cinnamon, curry leaves, cut green chili, cut onions, salt to Bengal gram mix well.
  4. Make small balls with the Bengal gram mixture.
  5. Heat oil high. Now flatten the Bengal gram balls deep fry them and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Add less water when you coarse grind the Bengal gram.
