INGREDIENTS:

  1. Split Bengal gram - 1 cup
  2. onion - 1
  3. dry chili peppers - 3
  4. curry leaf - 5
  5. salt - for taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Dice onions into very small pieces. Chop the curry leaves into small pieces.
  2. Soak Split Bengal gram in 2-3 cups of water for 3 hours and remove the water from the dal.
  3. In blender or a wet grinder grind 1/2 of the soaked Split Bengal gram and dry chili peppers until it becomes a fine coarse. Add water if necessary. NOTE: add little water as possible
  4. Now grind the other 1/2 of the Split Bengal gram in the blender as medium coarse.
  5. Mix the Split Bengal gram together (fine and medium coarse). Now add the onion, curry leaves and mix well.
  6. In a deep frying pan, heat oil. Once the oil is hot and ready.
  7. Take some Split Bengal gram mix, make as small ball (a small lemon size). Now flatten it and deep fry it

NOTES:

  1. You can make the ball in advance and flat and drop it oil to cook
  2. Preparation Time: 15 - 20 min. Once the dal is soaked.
