Dill greens masala vadai recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Split bengal gram - 1 cup
  2. Black gram - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  3. Asafoetida powder - a pinch
  4. Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Green chili - 3
  6. Ginger - 1 inch
  7. Dill green - 1/2  bunch.
  8. Salt - to taste.
  9. Oil - deep fry

PREPARATION:

  1. Finely chop dill greens and onion.
  2. Soak bengal gram, black gram for 2 hours.
  3. In grinder or a blender, grind green chili, ginger, asafoetida powder.
  4. Now add soaked grams (drain all the water) and grind them to a coarse dough.
  5. Now add chili powder, onion, dill, salt to taste and mix well.
  6. Make a 2 inch size balls with the dough, flatten them as you do for vadai.
  7. In a deep frying pan, heat oil to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
  8. Now deep fry the flatten dough until it turns golden brown both sides and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with coconut chutney.
