INGREDIENTS:

  1. Rava - 1 1/4 cup
  2. Black gram - 1/4 cup
  3. Asafoetida powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.) or as needed
  5. Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Ghee - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Salt - as needed
  8. Oil - to fry.

PREPARATION:

  1. Roast the rava until it changes to golden brown.
  2. Lightly roast black gram and ground into powder coarsely.
  3. In a bowl add rava, black gram, asafoetida powder, black pepper powder, cumin powder, ghee , salt. Add water as needed and make a hard dough (you should be able to make small balls)
  4. Now make small balls out of the dough. Deep fry them to golden brown in medium heat (heat the oil high first and then bring to medium heat) and serve. NOTE: fry them in batches for good result. Don't crowed them either.
