INGREDIENTS:

  1. Split bengal gram - 1 cup
  2. Shredded coconut - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  3. Asafoetida powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Dry chili - 4
  5. Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Cumin seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Curry leaf - 8
  9. Oil - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Cook the split bengal gram by submerging them in water for about 4 minutes. Drain the all the liquid from the cooked split bengal gram.
  2. In pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry chili, curry leaves, asafoetida powder. Once the mustard seeds stop splattering add the coconut and sauté for 30 seconds.
  3. Now add the cooked split gram. sauté for 2 minutes and serve.
