Kuzhi paniyaram recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Rice - 1 cup
  2. Par boiled rice - 1 cup
  3. Uluttam paruppu (black gram) - 1 cup
  4. Fresh Shredded coconut - 1 cup or from 1/2 coconut
  5. Vendayam (fenugreek seeds) - 1/2 tablespoon (tbsp)
  6. Salt - to taste
  7. Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp)

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak rice, par boiled rice, vendayam (fenugreek seeds) in water for 3 hours.
  2. Grind the soaked ingredients into a thick batter (dosai batter conistency) with salt and keep it aside for 12 hours.
  3. Add the shredded coconut to the batter and mix well.
  4. Heat the kuzhi paniyaram pan with oil in the kuzhi. Pour the batter into the kuzhi.
  5. Remove them and serve when they are well done.

NOTES:

  1. Usually you prepare the batter day before in the evening.
