INGREDIENTS:

  1. Gram flour - 2 cup
  2. Rice flour - 1 cup
  3. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Asafoetida powder - a pinch
  5. Butter or ghee - 4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Coconut oil - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Oil - for deep fry
  8. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Mix butter or ghee, salt to taste, asafoetida powder, chili powder.
  2. Now add gram flour, rice flour, water as needed and knead it to a non sticky pliable dough. Now add coconut oil and mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a pan for deep fry 350 degree Fahrenheit.
  4. With the help of "murukku press" and ribbon plate. Press the dough into the oil and deep fry them until they turn golden brown.

NOTES:

  1. Don't press in too much dough; cook them in batches
  2. Murukku press and Ribbon plate
  3. ribbon press
