INGREDIENTS:

  1. Gram flour - 2 cup
  2. Rice flour - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Butter - 5 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Garlic - 4 cloves
  6. Black pepper - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Asafoetida powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Salt - to taste
  9. Oil - for deep fry

PREPARATION:

  1. Grind asafoetida powder and garlic into fine thick paste.
  2. Grind black pepper into a fine powder.
  3. Mix garlic paste, black pepper, butter, salt to taste, chili powder, gram flour and rice flour add water as needed and and knead it to a non sticky pliable dough.
  4. Heat oil to 350 degree Fahrenheit; use "murukku press" and press the dough into a long string and fry to golden brown and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Don't press in too much dough; cook them in batches
  2. Murukku press and Ribbon plate
  3. ribbon press
