Crispy plantain fry recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Nenthra kaaya (plantain) - 1
  2. Maida flour - 1/4 cup
  3. Oat - 1 cup
  4. Sugar - 2 teaspoon (tsp.) or as needed
  5. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Oil - deep frying

PREPARATION:

  1. Remove the skin from plantain and cut them into thin long slices (like you do for bajji).
  2. In a bowl add sugar, maida flour, turmeric powder, water as needed and make batter like we do for bajji.
  3. Spread oats in a plate.
  4. Heat oil for deep frying. Dip the slices in the batter then drop them in oats and coat them well. Now fry the coated slice to golden brown and serve. Do the same for all the slices.

NOTES:

  1. Remove excess oil before you serve them.
  2. Frying in batches will keep the oil temperature high and will yield better result.
