INGREDIENTS:

  1. Black gram - 200 grams
  2. Green chilies - 8
  3. Black Pepper - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  4. Ginger - small piece
  5. Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Coconut - 5 small wedges
  7. Oil - to fry
  8. Salt - as required

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak black gram for 3 hours in water. Wash and drain all the water.
  2. Chop coconut wedges into small pieces.
  3. Grind soaked black gram to a fine dough adding 2 green chilies, salt, little water as needed. NOTE: adding too much water will soak oil in bonda
  4. Finely chop the rest of the green chilies and ginger.
  5. Now add chopped green chili, chopped ginger, black pepper, cumin seeds, chopped coconut pieces to the dough and mix well.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan. Make small balls out of the dough and deep fry them to golden brown and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with coconut chutney.
