Sura puttu (shark fish fry) recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Sura or shark fish - 500 grams
  2. Hot green chili - 12
  3. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp)
  4. Fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon (tsp)
  5. Onion - 4
  6. Oil - 1/4 cup
  7. Ghee - 2 tablespoon (tbsp)

PREPARATION:

  1. Remove the skin from the shark.
  2. Cook the fish with turmeric powder, adding water until all the water is all evaporated. Keep it aside.
  3. Cut onion, green chilies into fine pieces.
  4. Remove bones from the fish, add the fennel seeds and break the fish into small pieces and mix them well.
  5. In a pan melt the ghee. add oil and heat them. Once hot.
  6. Add the onions and cook until golden brown.
  7. Add green chilies for 1- 2 min.
  8. Add the fish and cook it until it turns golden brown. (water is gone and the fish is fried) and serve.
