Nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy ) fry recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy) - 1 cup
  2. Thinly sliced onion (or) Thinly shallot (sambar onion) - 1 1/2 cup
  3. Slit green chili - 10
  4. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. -- For Tempering --
    1. Mustard seed - as needed
    2. Curry leaf - a handful
    3. Oil - as needed
  6. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy ) in water for 1/2 hour and clean them well.
  2. In a pan heat oil, add mustard seed, curry leaf once the mustard seeds stop splattering add onion and sauté it until they become translucent (golden brown).
  3. Now add green chili, nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy), turmeric powder, salt and sauté until they come together (cooked well and oil seperates) and serve.

NOTES:

  1. nethili karuvadu (dry anchovy ) have salt already keep this mind when you add more salt.
