Dry nethili meen (anchovy fish) fry recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Dry nethili meen or Dry anchovy fish - 300 grams
  2. Shallot or small onion - 100 grams
  3. Green chili - 3
  4. Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  5. Fennel seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Mustard seed - 1/4 teaspoon (tsp.)
  7. Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Sesame oil - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Curry leaves - 5
  10. Salt - to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak the dry dry nethiliĀ  meen or dry anchovy fish in water for 30 min. Clean them them well and keep it aside.
  2. Slice onion into fine pieces. Chop green chili into fine pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seed, fennel seed once the mustard seed start to splatter add curry leaves, onion, ginger paste, green chili and cook until onion turns golden brown.
  4. Now add the dry fish, chili powder, salt to taste (usually dry fish has salt so careful). Cook for 15 minutes or until the fish is cooked well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. Good to go with rice.
