Nandu (crab) masala recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Soft shell Crab - 6
  2. Oil - as needed
  3. Salt - to taste
  4. -- TO GRIND TO PASTE--
    1. Onion - 1
    2. Garlic - 6 cloves
    3. Ginger - 2 inch
    4. Fennel seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
    5. Cumin seed - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    6. Black Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    7. Sambar powder - 3 teaspoon (tsp.)
    8. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
    9. Fresh coconut - 1/2 cup shredded
    10. Tomatoes - 2

PREPARATION:

  1. Grind all the ingredients into fine paste by adding water if needed.
  2. In a pan heat oil, add the ground paste sauté and cook until the oil separates.
  3. Now add a the soft shell crab, add 1/2 cup water.
  4. Simmer and cook until the crab is done and oil separates. Remove and serve.
