INGREDIENTS:

  1. Chicken pieces - 1 kilogram
  2. Curd - 1 cup
  3. Chopped onion - 1
  4. Lime - 1
  5. Cardamom - 5
  6. Cinnamon - 1 piece
  7. Red chilies - 7
  8. Garlic - 12 cloves
  9. Black Pepper - 10
  10. Ginger - 1 piece
  11. Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  12. Cloves - 5
  13. Poppy seed - 1 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  14. Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  15. Oil - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  16. Salt - as required

PREPARATION:

  1. In a bowl add chicken pieces, curd, turmeric powder, salt. Mix well and marinate this for an hour.
  2. Grind ginger, garlic into a fine thick paste by adding water if needed.
  3. Dry roast cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, black pepper, cumin seed, red chilies. Grind these in to fine this paste by adding little water as possible.
  4. In a pan heat oil. Now add chopped onion and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  5. Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté until raw smell is gone and oil starts to separate.
  6. Now add the roasted ground paste and sauté until oil separates.
  7. Now add the chicken, lime juice, salt, water if needed and cook until oil separates then serve. NOTE: added water for you masala thick ness preference.
